Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 5, 1932, she was the daughter of Jessie R. Manning and Riddie O. Wheeler Manning, and grew up with 4 brothers.

Betty graduated from Nederland High School early by skipping two grades and started college at Lamar University at 16. She became a Medical Technician where she worked for Dr. Houston Byrd and then Dr. Sanders for 45 years before retiring. Betty, an avid fan of sports, watched her son play baseball and football, and spent her spare time playing with her grandson, Keith, as often as possible as he grew. Betty also took great joy in visiting her great grandson, Landon.

Betty was a gifted artist and created many beautiful paintings that decorated her home. Betty showed her love through cooking and loved to experiment with every recipe she encountered! She moved to Sugar Land, TX in the early 2000s to help with granddaughters, Kyle and Lynn, who grew up enjoying her company, cooking, painting, stories and laughter. Her continued love of sports found her anticipating and watching every Houston Astros game (except where she found that standing in the kitchen or outside despite the weather brought them good luck!). Her “friendly” debates with her son on the best Astros players was an ongoing source of laughter.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bernnie Robinson, brothers, Gerald Manning, William Manning, and Jesse Charles Manning.

Betty is survived by her son, Von Robinson and wife Sara of Hockley, Texas; daughter, Carlie Clarke of Willis, Texas; grandchildren, Keith Lofton and wife Amanda, Kyle Schweigert and husband Chris, Lynn Robinson, and Morgan Padgett; great-grandson, Landon Lofton; and brother, Carl Leonard Manning.
