Calvin William Ashworth, 78, of Nederland, Texas passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.
Calvin was born November 4, 1942 in Starks, Louisiana to Gertherd Olen Ashworth and Thelma Johnson Ashworth. He graduated from Starks High School, where he met the love of his life Linda Gail (Dorman) Ashworth. They married in 1963.
Calvin moved to Vidor where he and his wife of 58 years, raised their 3 children. Calvin worked as an Operator at Oxy Chemical Plant until his retirement.
Calvin never met a stranger and loved good long talks about his family and past life events. He knew a little something about everything and loved to share his thoughts with all who would listen. Calvin loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and loved going to his lake house at Toledo Bend to spend time with his kids and grandkids. He was a talented carpenter and could build anything. If you could show him a picture he could build it...from toy trucks to furniture to a full house remodel studs to rafters, he could do it all, and he was a one man show at that. Calvin loved boiling crawfish and made the best roast and gravy and loved feeding a great meal to all his family and friends.
We will never be able to fill the void left by Calvin, he was the sweetest, most kind hearted, gentle soul that anyone could ever meet. So tender hearted and we are so very thankful we got to call him husband, dad, papaw and friend.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife Linda Ashworth, their son Marc Anthony Ashworth and his wife Heather of Nederland, his daughter Rachel Ashworth Carona and her husband Jon of Port Neches, and his son Randy Scott Ashworth and his wife Girly of Columbia. He has four beloved grandchildren who were the apple of his eye and his greatest joy. Jacob Richards, Caleb Richards, Ashley Ashworth and Blake Ashworth along with six step grandchildren Ashton Morgan, Hailey Morgan, Keagan Stinnett, Gillian Carona, Jaci Carona and Sharlotte Mozo. Siblings: Miriam Eileen Hertzler, Wanda Faye Butler and husband James, Nina June Howard, Sharon Ruth Woodard and husband John, Lynn Jack Ashworth and Marvin Wendell Ashworth.
