Charles "Chuck" Kenneth Stroud, Sr.

January 31, 1945 - July 22, 2021

Charles "Chuck" Kenneth Stroud, Sr., 76, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 31, 1945 to Wilmer Jody Stroud and Jessie Lenora Lavender Stroud. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Class of 1963. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. During his service he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Two Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal With Device. He was employed with Arco in Mid Management for 16 years, then moving to Bay City, Texas to work for Occidental 12 years before retiring and returning home. Chuck was a member of VFW Post #797 in Port Arthur and American Legion Post #7. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Military graveside services will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Chuck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christal Stroud of Groves, Texas, daughters, Jody Garza and husband Sam of Fannett, Texas and Jennifer Allen and husband Chris of Lake Dallas, Texas, son, Charles "Charlie" Stroud, Jr. and wife Mindy of Katy, Texas, eleven grandchildren, Alexandria Cloud and husband Garrett, Cody Garza and wife Kari, A.J. Garza and wife Cara, Zachary Garza, Dakota Garza and fiance' John Barrows, Mia Garza and boyfriend Tyler Feemster, Jacob Garza, Taylor Allen and wife Abby, Noah Allen, Ashley Allen and Maci Stroud and seven great grandchildren.
