Charles Simon, Jr.

July 4, 1915 — December 4, 2010

He was born in Vinton, LA in 1915 to Charles Simon and Lelia Prince Simon. He was married to Anna Mae Simon, the love of his life, for 73 years. Charles was a fine example to his children of a loyal, hard working, dependable, and dedicated husband, father, and employee. He was a Gulf Oil employee for 41 years, never missing a day of work. He was honest in every area of his life. He will be remembered most for his ready smile, sense of humor, and love of dancing. He always had games to play at each gathering; horseshoes, tripoley, and checkers (at which he was unbeatable). He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Simon; two sisters, Edna Sandifer and Stella Ledet; two brothers, Swils Simon and Leo Simon. Survivors include his daughters, Deann Hilton and husband, Will of Dayton, TX, Sharon O'Neal of Nederland, TX, Bridgett Porter and husband, Billy of Baytown, TX; sons, Kent Simon and wife, Rubie of Friendswood, TX, Bret Simon of Beaumont, TX; brothers, Stanley Simon and wife, Gladys of Woodville, TX, Abner Simon and wife, Ruth of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will held Friday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kavan Simon, Caleb Hilton, Josh Hilton, David Hilton, Jared Langham, Blaine Judice. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harlen Judice, Jed Weems, and Jim Sandifer.
