Daniel Joseph DeKerlegand

Daniel Joseph DeKerlegand, 68, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.
He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 2, 1952 to Willie Joseph DeKerlegand and Sadie Mae Guidry DeKerlegand.
Daniel was a lifelong area resident and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Groves Knights of Columbus #3491.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Daniel was an Insulator with Asbestos Local #22 with 37 years of service.
Daniel loved fishing, gardening and taking things apart and putting them back together, building Purple Martin houses, cooking and enjoying his friends and family.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the funeral home with Reverend Rejimon E. George officiating.
A Military graveside service will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Charles Holmes, John Bourgeois, II, Jonathan Khandaker, Haven Khandaker, Jacob Wright, and Alex Wright.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Pam Bourgeois DeKerlegand of Groves, two daughters, Dana Marie DeKerlegand of Nederland and Amy Lynn DeKerlegand and husband Charles Holmes of Orange, four brothers, Larry Wayne DeKerlegand of Hemphill, Kenneth Ray DeKerlegand and wife Tori of Groves, Terry DeKerlegand and wife Ellen of Mauriceville, and Willie Joseph DeKerlegand, Jr. and wife Gwen of Port Arthur, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Sadie and sister in law, Kathy DeKerlegand.
