Edith "Edie" Reaves Cahal

January 11, 1942 — June 20, 2021

Edith Reaves Cahal, 79, of Nederland, Texas passed away June 20, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Groves, Texas on January 11, 1942 to James and Victoria (Webb) Reaves. She was a lifelong Mid-County resident.

Edie was a homemaker and also worked at The Christian General and The Living Word bookstores.

Edie's life revolved around her God and her family. She was a loving and dedicated Gran to her 5 grandchildren. She loved doting on them when they were little. From picking them up from school and taking them for an afternoon snack, to attending their games, plays, and school functions, Gran was all in. They brought her tremendous joy.

A devout Christian, Edie knew and loved her God. She accepted Jesus as her lord and savior at a young age. Most mornings you could find her reading her bible and drinking coffee. Because of her faith, there is no doubt she is walking the streets of gold with Him today.

On June 22, 1962 Edie married her soulmate, Thomas Cahal, Sr. together they raised four wonderful successful children. She has waited 31 years to be reunited with him and her family takes great comfort knowing they are together again.

Edie was preceded in death by her four brothers, husband, Thomas Cahal, Sr., son, Tommy Cahal, Jr. and infant daughter, Victoria Cahal.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Tullier and husband Steven of Beaumont; sons, Michael Cahal, Robb Cahal and wife Holley all of Nederland; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hurt of San Antonio; grandchildren, Ryan Cahal, Kylee Tullier, Shane Cahal, Conor Cahal, and Aaron Tullier; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.
