George John Rogers, Jr.

George John Rogers, Jr. George John Rogers, Jr., 78, of New Caney, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 27, 1940 in Beaumont, Texas to George John Rogers, Sr. and Mary Trahan Rogers. George grew up in Groves and eventually settled in the Houston area. He was residing in New Caney, Texas at the time of his passing. He was retired as an electrician from Johnson Controls and was a member of the Boilermakers Union, VFW and the Ham Radio Club. George proudly served his country in the United States Airforce and the United States Navy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be before the service on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. George was preceded in death by his sister, Ella Faye Rogers. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Wilson of Conroe, TX., three sons, Robert Rogers of Tomball, TX., George J. Rogers, III of Conroe, TX., and Kenneth Rogers of San Antonio, TX., sister, Mary Noland of Friendswood, TX., brother, Phillip Rogers of Nederland, TX., thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
