Helen A. MacMurtrie, 86, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, peacefully at her home in Port Neches.
Helen was born in New Windsor, New York, on May 26, 1936, to Theresa and Louis Thompson. She moved to Port Arthur, Texas with her husband Edward MacMurtrie in 1963. Port Neches, Texas has been her home for over fifty years. Her hobbies included, painting, reading, sewing, bowling, potting plants, bird watching, and spending time with her great-granddaughter Juliet and her family. She also enjoyed seeing her friends at the Seniors building in Port Neches, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward MacMurtrie, seven siblings and her parents.
She is survived by one brother, Mike Thompson and his wife Ella of Walden, NY; and sons, Gary and wife Susan MacMurtrie, Kevin and wife Norma MacMurtrie, her grandchildren, Derek and Chelsea MacMurtrie, and great-grandchild Juliet MacMurtrie.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.
There will be a private ceremony at a later date.
