James W. Laird

James W. Laird James W. Laird, 91, of Groves, Texas passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born on August 27, 1926, to James Madison Laird and Annie Belle McGehee Laird. James lived in this area for 69 years and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He was retired operator from Texaco after 33 years of service. James was a United States veteran serving his country in the Coast Guard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Travis Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches,Tx. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Laird. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Laird of Groves; two daughters, Lynn Morris and husband Roe of Monroe, LA and Lisa Spalding and husband Don of Groves; one son, Thomas Lee Laird of Houston; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hughes, Elizabeth Cooley, Kyle Boudreaux and wife Erin, Ryan Boudreaux and wife Stephanie, Laura Laird and Chris Laird; seven great grandchildren, Jessica Keithley, Aislinn Tucker, Johannah Robin, Axton Robin, Emma Boudreaux, Allyson and Lisa; and two great great grandchildren, Carson and Jayce.
