Leroy Joseph Leger, 76, of LaBelle, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Leroy was born August 4, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas to Andrew Leger and Elsie Mae Barton Leger. He was a lifelong resident of LaBelle and member of LaBelle Baptist Church. Leroy retired from Big Hill Oil Reserve as a millwright after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Kennerson; and grandson, Cody Comeaux. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Ann Leger of LaBelle; daughter, Janice Grissom and husband Darin of Hideaway; sons, Jeff Leger and wife Tammy of Vidor, and Jody Leger and wife Angie of Vidor; step-daughters, Jackie LaVergne and husband Eric of Port Neches, and Michelle Rodriguez and husband David of Port Neches; brothers, Robert Leger and wife Judy of Lumberton, and Billy Ray Leger and wife Amanda of LaBelle; grandchildren, Samantha, JenaRose, Weston, Ashley, Brad, Karleigh, Katelyn, Christopher, Adam, Aaron, Blaz, Britton, Brandon, Bryan, and Morgan; and eighteen great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at LaBelle Baptist Church, 9400 FM 365, Beaumont, TX 77705, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sonny Hathaway and Reverend Keith Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Burrell Cemetery in LaBelle under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.
