Otis A. Barnes, 95, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Port Neches, Texas on November 14, 1925 to Thomas Arthur Barnes and Beulah Powell Barnes.
Otis was a lifelong area resident and was a member of First Baptist Church of Groves.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
Otis was retired from Sabine Towing and Transportation as Vice President of Personnel.
He was a member of Port Neches VFW #4820, a member of the Groves Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years and member of the Southeast Texas Stamp Club.
A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Charles Miller of First Baptist Church-Groves will be officiating. A Military Graveside service will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
Otis is survived by his daughter, Kay Barnes of Port Arthur, TX, son, David Barnes of LaBelle, TX, two step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, nine step great, great grandchildren, and one step great, great, great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Dill Barnes and two brothers, Bernard Barnes and Robbie Lee Barnes.
